16 weeks and counting...

I thought I felt the baby move for the first time yesterday, but it may have been something I ate:).

I am officially 16 weeks today. We are more excited than ever to meet the Little One. My belly is expanding more and more each day and I'm eating for two for sure... This is not unusual given normal circumstances, so now I just feel a little better about it since I am actually growing a human!

Morning/Day sickness has subsided and I'm feeling pretty good. I have energy on sunny days and none on the rainy days, but I think that goes for everyone these days.

Little Man hamming it up
Big Sis and Little Man are becoming better and better buddies every day. Yesterday Little Man knocked his head on the piano bench (happens about 20 times a day) and Big Sis was so empathic that she came over rubbed his head, said 'ahhhhhh', and insisted she locate his binky to help soothe the tears. They'll be sharing a room once the Little One arrives and I think (although it will be an adjustment for both), they will get along just fine. I wouldn't even be surprised if I see them ending up in each other's beds by morning:). They are really taking to each other.

The wonder; the awe....

There are some days when I just shake my head in amazement and awe and look up to the heavens and say "Thank you, God, for this life... thank you for these children... thank you for all the blessings you have given." These words & these thoughts, should not happen on 'some days,' but they should happen on 'all days.' But none-the-less... today was a day when I was especially thankful and grateful as I watched my children interact and play and the joy I saw in their eyes as they looked at each other and at me and at life all around them.

Here are some of shots of the awe and amazement they have had in the last few days...

A mischievous look... This is becoming more normal.

Fun in the sun...

With the spring sun beaming down (only occasionally these days), we took advantage of it!

The sun sure does the spirit good. With only glimpses of it, we have to make sure that we are soaking up every ounce. This was Little Man's first exposure to the little kiddie pool and he thought it was the best thing since bread! Big Sis showed him the ropes... they make a good pair!

On motherhood...

I have never experienced anything so demanding and yet so satisfying as Motherhood. There are the days that I feel like my heart has been torn out of me and the days that I feel like my heart is going to explode for there is no more room for the joy I feel.

To see a child, made in my image, looking back at me with a smile, a hug, a kiss, an 'i love you' is like standing on the highest mountain top with the sun beaming down on me. Praise God for motherhood.

Tea and tender friends...

There is just something about sitting around a table sipping tea with new friends that seem like you've known them forever. Do you know what I mean? I've only had a few instances in my life where I've made a new friend and that friend filled a spot in my life like they had been there all along.

We were invited to some friends of ours for English Tea this afternoon. We packed up the kids and headed out. What awaited us was homemade scones with homemade cream, homemade strawberry and cherry jams, homemade pastries of a variety of sorts, cheeses that melted in your mouth with bursts of flavor, and crackers, fruits, and more! Delectable, truly.

Now home, the kids are trying to nod off to sleep. I still hear them both upstairs babbling. I wonder what it will be like when they are both in the same room together. Goodness, I'm not sure I want to think about that yet.

It is off for dinner now... a little late, but better than never.
